Your privacy matters. Neon Timer is designed with privacy as a core principle. We collect minimal data and store nothing on external servers.
Data We Collect
On Your Device (Local Storage)
Neon Timer stores the following data locally on your device:
- Workout plans you create
- Exercise templates
- Workout history
- App settings and preferences
This data is stored using Apple's SwiftData framework and remains on your device. We do not have access to this data.
Apple HealthKit
If you choose to enable HealthKit integration, Neon Timer can save your workout summaries to Apple Health. This includes:
- Workout type (e.g., strength training)
- Start and end time
- Total duration
- Workout metadata (exercises, sets, reps)
HealthKit data is controlled by Apple and stored according to Apple's privacy policies. We only write data to HealthKit when you explicitly choose to save a workout. We do not read data from HealthKit.
Data We Do NOT Collect
Neon Timer does NOT:
- Require an account or login
- Store any data on external servers
- Track your location
- Access your contacts, photos, or other personal data
- Share or sell any data to third parties
- Use advertising or ad tracking
Website Analytics
This website (neon-timer.paulpela.com) uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with the site. This is separate from the Neon Timer app.
We only load analytics if you consent via the cookie banner. If you decline, no tracking scripts are loaded.
Google Analytics may collect:
- Pages visited
- Time spent on pages
- Approximate geographic location (country/city level)
- Device and browser information
This data is anonymized and used solely to improve the website. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.
Third-Party Services
The app itself does not use any third-party services, analytics, or tracking. The only external integration is Apple HealthKit, which is opt-in.
Data Security
Your workout data is stored locally on your device using iOS's built-in security features. We do not transmit your data over the internet, so there is no risk of data breaches from our end.
Children's Privacy
Neon Timer does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. The app is a general-purpose workout timer with no features specifically targeting children.
